Overview

The Metropolitan Coalition is a nonprofit organization that the mayors of North Carolina's largest cities and towns created to represent urban areas. The coalition encourages sharing of ideas. It promotes policies, rules and legislation to ensure that the state's urban regions remain good places to live, environmentally sound and economically viable.

The metropolitan regions of North Carolina contain 2 million people, comprising the world's 41st largest economy with a gross product greater than Austria, Minnesota, Houston or Atlanta. See the membership directory of cities and towns in the N.C. Metropolitan Coalition.

The N.C. Metropolitan Coalition is a 501(c) (4) non-profit organization. The N.C. League of Municipalities shares office space in the Albert Coates Local Government Center in downtown Raleigh.
