The mayors in the NC Metropolitan Coalition are in Raleigh Wednesday and Thursday to review progress on the Coalition’s priorities and meet with the state legislators to discuss important legislative issues related to the Coalition’s top priorities.

Some of the specific issues mayors will be discussing are:
- Economic Development legislation, especially state incentive programs being debated in the legislature.
- Important legislative efforts to create an effective and fair stormwater program in North Carolina, especially since one legislative proposal leaves only cities doing the work.
- The need for the Legislature to focus more attention on traffic and transportation needs.

The 9:30am press conference will be held to brief the media on the Coalition’s progress on these and other issues. Individual mayors may be available immediately afterwards.

The Metropolitan Coalition’s meeting in Raleigh is being held in conjunction with the NC League of Municipalities’ “Town Hall Day,” which brings municipal officials from all over the state to Raleigh on Wednesday to meet with state legislators.
