NC Mayors To Meet with Governor Today about Revenue Issues; Onsite News Media Q&A to Follow What: Mayors of the NC Metropolitan Coalition are scheduled to meet with Governor Michael Easley at 1:30 p.m. today to discuss the Governor's recent announcement to withhold crucial local government revenues. Immediately following the meeting, the mayors will hold a news conference outside the Bailey Tucker House to report on the outcome of the closed meeting and to answer questions from the media. When: ~2:00 p.m. (Immediately following the closed meeting with Governor Easley) Where: Outside the Bailey Tucker House at 213 East Lane Street (across from Governor's Mansion) Raleigh Background Established in 2000 and comprised of 19 of the largest cities in North Carolina, the North Carolina Metropolitan Coalition was formed by the municipal mayors to encourage the continued development of the urban areas in North Carolina as livable, environmentally sound, and economically viable centers. Members of the NC Metropolitan Coalition are in the Triangle today and Thursday for a previously scheduled session to continue work on priorities for the state's coalition of cities.
